'Genesis'. For Christians, the first book of the 'Old Testament'. For the painter Mariam Cremades, the beginning of a new phase in her artistic career. Also, the start of her upcoming exhibition in Alicante. This Friday, she will inaugurate her newly created gallery in the city with this promising beginning.
Having travelled the world with her artistic works and reaching New York City twice, her work leapt from the exhibition hall to the iconic screens of Times Square in Manhattan. This Alicante painter now opens a new space dedicated to contemporary art in the Babel neighbourhood.
With this initiative, Cremades aims to offer Alicante residents "a new meeting point for the creation and dissemination of contemporary art", located at number 17 Alcalde José Luis Lassaletta Street. Inside, she will combine her own painting studio with an exhibition gallery of over one hundred square metres starting this Friday.
To whet the appetite with possibilities, this artist born in Almoradí and based in Alicante will exhibit 'Genesis' at her grand opening, which includes her own works such as 'Connections', 'Strata', or 'Visions'. In these, Mariam Cremades reflects on events and vital facts that lead her to the true origin, her life's purpose.
Moreover, this exhibition also carries within it a promise of continuous growth where art and life intertwine in a process of constant reinvention, just as Cremades herself has experienced with this new step in her artistic career.
Between chemistry, fashion, and art
The world of Mariam Cremades flows between science and art. With a background in Chemical Engineering and an extensive professional career as a director in a multinational fashion company, the artist turns to painting inspired by great artists like Van Gogh, Turner, or Rothko, developing her own style that invites reflection and personal growth.
Her artistic evolution, determined by experimentation with colour and sculptural textures, has led her to exhibit in Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Girona, Alicante, or New York City.
With this new contemporary art gallery in Alicante, Cremades seeks to consolidate her career and become a creative laboratory open to collaboration with other artists. "With my studio and gallery, I want to provide art with a space where collaboration between artists and dialogue with the public is fostered, creating transformative experiences," she explains.
In addition to her own exhibitions and guest artists, the venue will host personalised workshops for individuals and activities like 'team buildings' for companies, aiming to foster creativity and bring art closer to all audiences.
