Calendar and Pyrotechnics of Luceros' Mascletàs in Alicante's Hogueras 2025
The City Council maintains the 8,500 euros per display, matching Valencia's Fallas

Although the calendar is moving towards Christmas, the Hogueras of San Juan in Alicante continue their activities. It's not just the events organised by the Federació de Fogueres for this season, such as the carol singing contest, the burning of a bonfire, or the New Year's Eve mascletà. The official festivities of Alicante are already looking forward to June 2025, when the monuments will fill the streets and the smell of gunpowder will return to Luceros Square.
The Alicante City Council has already approved the upcoming mascletà contest of Hogueras in Luceros Square, which will take place from June 18 to 24, the day of San Juan. It has also approved the budget for each mascletà, which for 2025 will be 8,500 euros, matching last year's and aligning with Valencia.
For the coming year, the minimum duration will be 5 minutes and 30 seconds, excluding warning thunder. The maximum is set at seven minutes. The maximum weight of explosive material will be 80 kilos, and the regulated weight, 150. The maximum calibres for warning thunder, shells, ground thunder, and volcanoes will be 50 millimetres. The firing of flying canes is prohibited. The winning company will receive a prize of 1,000 euros.

Meanwhile, Pirotecnia Hermanos Ferrández from Beniel will be responsible for firing the Palm Tree on the Night of San Juan 2025. It has a budget of 7,000 euros.
Their display will be preceded by three 75 mm thunder shells. It will consist of 1,150 Imperial rockets of 20 mm, in pearl white with a trail from opening to full descent. At the end of the display, two 75 mm thunder shells will be fired as a conclusion signal. The total weight of the pyrotechnic devices will be 99.66 kilos NEC. It will last 18 seconds. At the central moment of opening, it will reach a radius of 300 metres.

The minimum duration of each fireworks display, which will be fired from Cocó Beach, will be 15 minutes, excluding the three warning thunders. Each display, budgeted at 19,000 euros, must be carried out continuously without interruption. The maximum calibre of pyrotechnic devices will be 175 mm without shells or repeat changes. However, repeat change shells with calibres not exceeding 125 mm may be fired.
The set of pyrotechnic devices forming the firing sequence must equal or exceed 350 kg NEC. The fireworks will be mainly aerial, though aquatic fireworks are allowed. The pyrotechnic devices will always be oriented towards the sea. The winner will receive a prize of 2,000 euros.
