A criminal wanted for murder, suspected of highway robberies in Alicante

The Civil Guard has arrested four individuals allegedly involved in robberies committed on highways in the province of Castellón. Two operations have managed to locate the suspects, who are also being investigated for other assaults on roads in Alicante.

One of the detainees was subject to a search and arrest warrant from Romania for attempted murder and serious injuries. He was captured in the first operation, being a suspected member of a group dedicated to violent robberies in service areas of the AP-7 and A-7.

The detainee was intercepted on the N-340 road in Castellón. After verifying his identity, it was also discovered that he used false documentation and had judicial requisitions in Spain and another search warrant in Germany.

In addition to these antecedents, the Civil Guard has been able to link him to several robberies, two in Cabanes; and his possible involvement in six more in Burriana, two in the Alicante municipality of La Vila Joiosa, and another in Benicarló.

The investigation began last February after a pattern of assaults was detected on these roads, where the criminals used high-end vehicles for their movements and escapes.

Thus, the second operation resulted in the arrest of three individuals specialized in property thefts, who allegedly operated on the AP-7, also taking advantage of rest areas and service stations.

The investigations began when the agents received a notice about a robbery in the town of Fuente de la Higuera. The operation located the suspects, proceeding to their arrest.

In the vehicle they were traveling in, various stolen personal items were found, as well as a considerable amount of cash. They are being investigated for their alleged involvement in at least ten robberies: two in La Vila Joiosa, three in Burriana, and five in Xeresa.

The four detainees, along with the processed reports, have been brought before the Court of Nules and the National Court, which have ordered their imprisonment. The operation was carried out by officers from the Main Post of the Civil Guard of Burriana, as part of the surveillance devices of the province's communication routes.
