Shower of Medals for Alicante Beach Volleyball at the Spanish Championships

Alicante beach volleyball continues to demonstrate its leading position on the national scene. The top exponents of this sport in the province are Paula Soria from Orihuela and Lili Fernández from Benidorm, who will participate in the Paris Olympic Games. However, the excellent work at the grassroots level continues to bear fruit. Year after year, medals are won in the lower categories, and this summer is no exception.

VP Costa Blanca from Alicante and CV Fabraquer El Campello have just climbed to the top of the podium in the Spanish Cadet Men's Championship held in Miguelturra. The Campello team defeated Alicante in the grand final, and the extraordinary level of play caused a sensation in this town in Ciudad Real.

This weekend, the Spanish Cadet Women's Championship is also taking place in Miguelturra, and it is likely that an Alicante team will also make it to the podium, as VP Costa Blanca is the favorite.

On another note, Bella Huesca from Alicante and her partner Sofía Gase from CV Playas de Benidorm have won bronze in the Spanish Under-21 Regional Teams Championship. Huesca and Gase showed great superiority over their rivals in the group stage and quarterfinals but faced a tough challenge against Madrid in the semifinals. The Alicante pair had several set points to make it 1-0 but eventually succumbed. In the battle for bronze, Huesca and Gase clearly defeated (2-0) Baleares, earning a well-deserved medal for their high level of play at Puerta de Hierro Sports Park in Madrid.

This weekend, the Spanish Under-19 Regional Teams Championship is also taking place in Madrid, with Bella Huesca competing again in the women's category, this time alongside Lara Sánchez from Elche. The Valencian Community will aim to climb the podium once more and increase their medal count.
