The Church Square in El Campello was filled with excitement and music on the night of Friday the 19th. This has been the venue for the events organized by the Associació Fireta de Sant Jaume-Comissió Cívica del 9 d'Octubre to celebrate, until Sunday, the 'Fireta de Sant Jaume'. This event marks its 20th anniversary this year.

The program, which includes contributions from the Department of Festivals and Traditions led by Marisa Navarro, the Ministry of Culture of the Generalitat Valenciana, the Institut Valencià de Cultura, and the Valencian cultural cooperative Gola Seca, as well as private firms, commemorates the traditional holiday of Sant Jaume. During this holiday, locals from across the region would come to El Campello's beaches with their livestock to cool off and spend a day with family.

Yesterday, attendees enjoyed performances by Valencian singers and groups such as "Sant Gatxo", Xavi Sarrià, the legendary singer from Obrint Pas, and "Cactus", a Valencian music group known for their fusion of styles predominantly featuring reggaeton, pop, and trap. The night concluded with DJ Santy Mataix, who kept the crowd dancing until early morning.

Orange and Purple Points

Thus begins a weekend in this municipality packed with music. This Saturday, 'Los 40' concert will take place in the municipality with performances by notable artists like Vicco and Chanel. For this occasion, the municipality has already set up orange and purple tents in the venue that will host 4,000 people.

As is customary for events with massive attendance, the El Campello Town Hall has activated the campaign "Get in MODO ON say no to bad vibes," through which the Department of Social Welfare led by Maricarmen Alemañ will convey messages (especially to young people) to enjoy the festivities without excessive alcohol or substance consumption and to prevent sexist aggressions.

Concert for Our Lady of Mount Carmel

The Coral Casino of El Campello offered a concert titled 'A Hundred Years with the Sea' on Friday in honor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, marking the final event scheduled to commemorate the centenary of her festivities.

In homage to the patron saint of seafarers, it was held inside her chapel. The Coral Casino of El Campello presented a special concert titled 'A Hundred Years with the Sea,' which filled the temple with parishioners and music lovers, including Mayor Juanjo Berenguer; Councilor for Festivals and Traditions Marisa Navarro; Councilor for Culture Dorian Gomis; and also councilors Yeray Hernández and María Jesús Bernabeu.

Under the direction of José Tomás Moñinos, the choir performed a repertoire featuring compositions by Narciso Serradell, A. López García, Ruperto Chapí, José Martín, Rafael Gastón, Carlos Gardel, and José María Cano, among others.

The music was performed by Ana Osma López (flute), Víctor Arques Sanabria (saxophone), and pianist Francisco López Segura.
