The President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, has requested assistance from the Ministry of Defense for the Armed Forces to collaborate in the distribution of aid to those affected by the passage of the DANA. Carlos Mazón announced this in a message through his social networks, where he emphasized that he requested Defense to incorporate "the available land, sea, and air forces to reinforce logistical and aid distribution tasks to the population."

The President of the Generalitat added that, from the Military Emergency Unit (UME), they had already communicated that from this Friday "at 8 in the morning" a "first wave to work during the day" will be incorporated into logistical tasks.

This Thursday, the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, explained that at present the UME has deployed 1,205 personnel in the affected areas, with more than 300 vehicles, and the occasional support of the Army. Robles added that 51 special canine teams are working in the search for the missing, and 15 helicopters and 18 drones have also been activated in the area.

Mazón met this Thursday remotely with the mayors of the affected municipalities to coordinate aid actions for the population.

According to the regional government, in the meeting, held by videoconference at the Generalitat's Emergency Coordination Center located in l'Eliana, the Minister of Justice and Interior, Salomé Pradas; the President of the Valencia Provincial Council, Vicent Mompó; and the Government Delegate, Pilar Bernabé, also participated.

The meeting aimed to coordinate aid actions for the population affected by the cold drop, which has already left, according to the latest official balance, 155 fatalities in the region. One of the most damaged municipalities is Paiporta, which has 63 deceased and has not yet restored the running water supply.
