CD Paidos Dénia achieved an epic comeback against Eguzki, winning 7-4, thus keeping their hopes alive in the Spanish Under-16 Futsal Championship held in Vigo.
The school team faced their second match of the competition with the obligation to win, a pressure that was evident in the initial nerves of their players. The Basque team Eguzki managed the game better, quickly taking the lead and thwarting the Dianense attempts to reach the rival area. Although Maxim temporarily equalised, Eguzki regained the lead before halftime (4-2), capitalising on defensive errors and complicating Paidos' controlled ball exit.
Total Reaction
After the break, Nata Grimalt's team showed notable improvement and began to dominate the game. Carlos Herrera scored the 3-4, boosting his teammates' spirits. The momentum continued, and after a favourable rebound, Herrera scored again to level the score. The comeback was completed with a great assist from Caudeli, allowing Herrera to score the 5-4.
The Basques, with a goalkeeper-player, attempted to equalise, but the solid Dianense defence and the offensive efficiency of Caudeli and Hugo sealed the match with two final goals, leaving the score at a clear 7-4.
With this victory, CD Paidos Dénia keeps their chances alive in the championship and must defeat CD Iberia Toscal, the Canary champion, tomorrow to continue dreaming of qualification.
