David Broncano, host of 'La Revuelta', and Melody, Spain's Eurovision representative, have escalated their public dispute following the comedian's response to the singer's controversial press conference. Melody accused the TVE programme of disrespecting her and mocking her performance after she cancelled a scheduled interview the Monday following the Eurovision final.

Broncano, refusing to avoid the controversy, declined to apologise to Melody, as she requested on Monday. He expressed his anger at the singer's remarks, who claimed that mental health should not be a subject of humour. These comments particularly upset the comedian. "Referring to mental health and using that card when there are people who truly suffer from such issues trivialises that reality. Playing that card seems wrong to me," the host stated before defending his show's commitment to mental health. He declared that they do not "trivialise such matters" nor "harass people," unlike other formats.

Furthermore, Broncano, who waited until Tuesday to respond as Melody made her statements while the comedy show was being recorded, criticised the artist for her lack of stance on Israel's participation in Eurovision. "Many people say 'I don't get involved in politics.' Everything is political, but the case of Palestine is also a matter of humanity," he insisted.

Specifically, Melody claimed, albeit falsely, that the contract she signed with RTVE after winning the Benidorm Festival prevented her from speaking on political issues. This was refuted by RTVE, which clarified that while political messages cannot be included in song proposals, contestants have never been prohibited from taking a political stance on any issue.
