The province of Alicante has almost 150,000 companies, mostly SMEs and micro-SMEs whose owners open their doors daily to serve customers. They do so by implementing tools that have led them to survival thanks to their commitment to training, new technologies, innovation, and undoubtedly professionalism.
Therefore, the Federation of Commerce and SMEs of the Province of Alicante, led by Carlos Baño, has decided for the fourth consecutive year to reward entrepreneurs who have chosen to improve and innovate in their various fields with the celebration of the Commerce Gala of the Province of Alicante. This time the event was held this Sunday at the Industrial Casino of Alcoi.

There, the honorees received the award which, according to Baño, aims to highlight the "advantages of associationism and working together". The spokesperson for the federation made it clear that Facpyme "is a tool for our members but also for the administration because the goal is to find solutions and alternatives for the immediate future."
During the course of the event, supported by the Diputación, a special recognition was given to the Mercat de Novelda and its collaborators who, with their work and effort, managed this summer to prevent this service from disappearing and continued providing service to citizens. In just a month and thanks, among many others, to the help of Jesús Navarro (Carmencita), they were able to set up a space to host the Mercat and also prevent people from losing their jobs.
Additionally, there was a small tribute to one of Facpyme's board members, Rafa Pérez, who is a resident of Alcoi and is retiring this year.
The truth is that the jury composed of councilors of Commerce and representatives from the municipalities of Mutxamel, Calp, Pilar de la Horadada, Ibi, Alicante, and from Vocento's digital platform TodoAlicante and Información had a very difficult time making a decision. The deliberations had to be extended for several hours due to the quality of SMEs presented in this new edition of the awards.
