'Caiga quien caiga', the Argentine-origin format that returned to Telecinco on January 19, will come to an end on March 2. The new phase of the program, this time led by Santi Millán, Lorena Castell, and Pablo González Batista, has not achieved the expected results for Mediaset's main channel, and the show will be pulled from the schedule after just seven episodes, unable to remain on air for more than two months.
The truth is that the audience never supported this iconic television show, which saw its greatest success in the mid-nineties on Telecinco, when it was hosted by El Gran Wyoming. It also had various seasons on Cuatro and La Sexta. The unique way of presenting political and social news, mixed with its curious and uncomfortable interviews, made 'Caiga quien caiga' a novelty in the mid-nineties. However, in this new run, the best ratings were achieved on its premiere, with a 9% share and over a million viewers.
From then on, the ratings hovered around 8.5%, except for its fourth episode, where it dropped to 6.7%, only to rise to 8.2% the following week. It was to no avail that Pablo Carbonell or Sara Carbonero donned the reporter's glasses and suit for a day.
The debate for the new season of 'Survivors', hosted by Sandra Barneda, will replace 'Caiga quien caiga'. 'Survivors: Honduras Connection' will premiere on March 9 at 10:00 PM.
