Alicante enjoyed its last summer weekend with residents taking advantage of the beaches. This Monday will be similar to Sunday in terms of temperature, with highs reaching 28 degrees Celsius. The difference is that clouds will cover the skies of the capital throughout the day, as forecasted by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

The province will experience similar conditions. Vega Baja will be the hottest area; in Orihuela, temperatures will reach 30ºC by midday, a few degrees higher than in Elche and Elda (29ºC) or Alcoi and Dénia (28ºC). The coldest minimum temperatures will be recorded in Banyeres de Mariola (15ºC).

Starting Tuesday, the weather will change dramatically as clouds return to Alicante and bring rain. Aemet predicts rainfall in the capital throughout the week, with an increasing probability of precipitation as the days go by. Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be the coolest and rainiest days in the capital.

Unlike the highs, minimum temperatures will rise during the week, with Wednesday and Saturday seeing the highest lows (21ºC). Winds will make their presence felt in Alicante during the last week of summer. Starting Wednesday, winds of up to 20 km/h are expected in the capital. In the rest of the province, clouds will also bring rain throughout the week.
