PLD Space will co-lead the upcoming edition of Space Camp, the space camp aimed at bringing the space industry closer to young talents

aged 10 to 17. The Elche-based company will conduct three specific workshops culminating in a visit to their Elche factory, where they will explain firsthand the manufacturing of their orbital launcher.

Additionally, students will receive mentorship in various activities from the engineering team at PLD Space. The company will also support young people in vulnerable situations by covering a significant percentage of the available scholarships, allowing them access to this experience.

The event, which is the result of an initiative developed by a team of space industry professionals from NASA and the European Space Agency, among others, allows participants to learn about the sector's reality from a classroom setting.

Among the three workshops conducted by the Elche-based rocket company is the construction and launch of a 'Miurita', a water rocket inspired by the Miura 5 launcher, aimed at teaching participants about aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and mission control.

There will also be two more Mars-inspired workshops. The first will be a Hackathon simulating a Mars landing with a system designed to launch an egg without breaking it upon landing. With the guidance of a university mentor and a PLD Space engineer, a final will be held at the Elche headquarters, featuring a professional jury and an educational tour of the factory.

The second mission will simulate an adventure on Mars with Lince and Miura Next, where aspiring astronauts will face various challenges testing their problem-solving, leadership, and adaptability skills.

Developed by Escuela de Ciencia, the new edition of Space Camp will take place in Valencia, at the facilities of Valencia Innovation Capital. It will feature five weekly expeditions from June 23 to July 25, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It is the only programme in Spain offering practical training with real industry standards in the space sector.
