The Oslo District Court has ruled in favor of Marius Borg Høiby, son of Princess Mette-Marit, in his lawsuit against rapper Jo Marstein. The court ordered the immediate removal of his image from promotional posters for the artist's new album. The advertisement, which displayed Marius's photograph in various locations in eastern Norway, sparked controversy by referencing the violent incident involving the crown princess's son last summer, for which he was arrested and remains under judicial investigation.
Marius's scandals have inspired Jo Marstein, 22, who included a song in his album that alludes to several moments of the assault. Although it does not mention Mette-Marit's son's name, it describes a character who "stabs knives into the wall," referring to images published by Norwegian media. The court ruling does not mention the removal of the song, despite Marius considering its lyrics defamatory and offensive for indirectly referencing him and his mother.
The verdict comes just days after Prince Haakon of Norway spoke for the first time about his stepson's issues. The son of King Harald mentioned a "complicated situation" and expressed that "there is an ongoing police investigation, and I don't think it's right to say much about the individual elements it contains." The heir also recalled his father's words on the matter: "At the same time, as the king said, we, as a family, try to take care of each other. And beyond that, we strive to do our job."
