Easter Week Hotel Occupancy in Costa Blanca Surges with 'Last-Minute Effect'

Good weather forecasts for the Easter holidays have significantly boosted hotel occupancy across Costa Blanca and the rest of the Valencian Community. According to data from the hotel association Hosbec, the 'last-minute effect' could lead several destinations in the province of Alicante, with Benidorm and Altea at the forefront, to near or even reach full occupancy.

As explained by Mayte García, the executive director of the main Valencian hotel association, last-minute bookings are causing increases of "up to ten and 20 points in some destinations." García highlights the performance of "Benidorm, with more than 86% occupancy expected for the key days between Thursday and Sunday."

This increase is also evident in the "city of Alicante, where occupancy will also exceed 80%." Additionally, the executive director of Hosbec is optimistic that this final sprint will continue to bring good news thanks to "favourable weather forecasts, which lead us to expect that final occupancy will be around 80% to 90%, and even full occupancy in some destinations."

One of the places that could display a full occupancy sign is Benidorm, which remains the city with the highest hotel occupancy forecast, closely followed by its neighbour Altea, which has seen the most growth in the past week with a surge of over 20 percentage points, reaching 83% confirmed occupancy with four days to go before Thursday (a holiday in many regions).

This past week, the city of Alicante has also seen a five-point increase, maintaining its position above the 80% forecast range.

The president of Hosbec, Fede Fuster, has encouraged tourists who have not yet decided where to spend their Easter holidays to visit the Valencian Community, which "still has the capacity to welcome all those who wish to visit us.
