All eyes this New Year's Eve were on the ratings battle between David Bronca and 'La Revuelta' collaborator LalaChus, and Antena 3 presenters Cristina Pedroche and Alberto Chicote. The first pair, debuting to present the New Year's Eve chimes, sparked a variety of comments. So much so that even the bishops have spoken out about a gesture made by the collaborator during the broadcast. They criticised her for using a 'stamp' of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, personalised with the bull from 'Gran Prix'. Meanwhile, Justice Minister Félix Bolaños has come to her defence, criticising the 'ultras' who have insulted her, particularly on social media.

The controversy began on social media, where the moment LalaChus displayed the 'stamp' sparked a debate about the appropriateness of her gesture and whether it constituted a disrespect to believers, especially given it was on public television. "I always carry my Grand Prix bull stamp with me. It's the best," the Madrid native began by saying.

"We all grew up watching the Grand Prix. The importance of television, especially public television, is that it brings the whole family together to enjoy it, and moreover, you, I, and many people are made of bits of TV," she continued, showing the controversial image to the camera, unaware of the stir it would cause on social media. It was on this same platform that the president of the Episcopal Conference, Monsignor Luis Argüello, condemned what he considers a "mockery".

Argüello sent a message via his account on X, lamenting that "under the guise of freedom of expression and the excesses of the festivities," public television attempts to make humour with a symbol "so dear to all Catholics." "The saddest part is that those responsible are not aware of what they are doing. Once again, banality surrounds us," he noted. This sentiment is shared by the association Hazte Oír, which has filed a complaint against the collaborator for what they consider a crime against religious sentiments.

Meanwhile, the Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Courts has defended the comedian and announced, also via social media, that in 2025 they will reform (to reduce) the crime of religious offences: "Day 1 and the first attempt by the ultras to intimidate," Bolaños wrote on X. "In 2025, we will push for the reform of the crime of religious offences to guarantee freedom of expression and creation," he continued, while expressing his support for the 'La Revuelta' collaborator.
