2024 has been a successful year for the Elche shopping centre, L'Aljub. The venue concluded the past year with record-breaking figures, showing increases in visitor numbers, sales at its retail outlets, and occupancy rates.

According to the shopping centre's management, during the presentation of the annual report, 2024 was "the best year in L'Aljub's history," with a 6% rise in visitors, a 9% increase in sales, and an occupancy rate nearing 99%.

The results were presented at Hort dels Ponts, within the shopping centre managed by CBRE. The presentation was led by the centre's manager, Daniel Párraga, and the marketing director, Lucía González.

Párraga emphasised the achievements in sustainability, having obtained "the certificate that guarantees 100% of our energy is renewable." The executive noted a 48% reduction in consumption compared to 2019 and announced that by 2025, "we will have a 45-space electric charging park and new scooter parking facilities."

In 2024, the "second phase of the photovoltaic solar station was installed and expanded, now featuring 1,200 panels," Párraga explained, adding that a total of 528 kW are installed, covering an area equivalent to four Olympic swimming pools. "L'Aljub saves 10% of CO2 tonnes annually, equivalent to the fuel consumption of 1,000 cars," he stated.

Additionally, the manager reported on the annual figures for the Solidarity Space: "We have carried out a total of 65 ESG actions and activities, amounting to 235 days of activity, over 27,000 euros in donations and collaborations, and approximately 59,500 euros in free space allocations to NGOs," the executive highlighted.

Looking ahead to 2025, the shopping centre will implement various inclusive plans for people with disabilities. González also announced plans to renovate "the upper floor to align with the Oasis positioning and enhance the experience." Furthermore, she revealed that the ABC Cinemas will open in the third quarter of 2025 after more than a year of renovations.
