BYD updates the Dolphin with new equipment and increased fast-charging power

Since its launch in the summer of 2023, the BYD DOLPHIN has established itself as the sales leader among 100% electric vehicles in its segment, with a market share of 36.45% and 1,193 units registered by June. In total, more than 2,500 customers have chosen this model since its arrival in the Spanish market.

Now, the BYD DOLPHIN, which combines distinctive design with great versatility, agility, and efficiency, further enhances its excellent value for money, consolidating itself as an affordable electric mobility solution capable of meeting the needs of a large number of drivers.

In addition to increased technological and comfort equipment, one of the main novelties of the DOLPHIN range is the increase in maximum direct current charging power, which rises from 88 kW to 110 kW. This allows the DOLPHIN to reduce the time needed to go from 30% to 80% battery capacity, which is now 26 minutes.

The heat pump, which is part of the standard equipment, has also been optimized for greater efficiency. Additionally, new adjustments in the suspension - shock absorbers and stabilizer bars - and steering improve agility and driving precision, maintaining a high level of ride comfort. The new trunk layout also allows for more luggage space, increasing the available volume from 345 litres to 364 litres.

Externally, the DOLPHIN, which showcases BYD's "Ocean Aesthetics" design language, renews the body colour range, now featuring monochromatic paint in all versions. The Skiing white and Cream white paint finishes are retained, with new shades for Jet black and Urban grey. The 17-inch alloy wheels, part of the standard equipment, now feature a two-tone finish. For the interior, one can still opt for a black or beige finish.

The BYD DOLPHIN features BYD's intelligent e-Platform 3.0, a cutting-edge scalable architecture that excels in offering the latest in system efficiency and integrated vehicle intelligence, as well as BYD's 8-in-1 electric propulsion system. The Comfort and Design versions have a power output of 150 kW (204 hp) and a 60.4 kWh Blade Battery, offering a combined cycle range of 427 km and 559 km in urban cycle.

From the Comfort version, the DOLPHIN offers standard equipment such as automatic emergency braking, rear collision warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, 360º camera, traffic sign recognition, electric and heated front seats, or vegan leather upholstery. With this update, digital NFC opening from your smartphone, heated steering wheel, and rain sensor are also added.

The Design trim adds a panoramic roof, privacy glass in the rear seats, wireless smartphone charging, and now includes the ventilation function for the front seats.

With the brand's promotions, the Plan MOVES III purchase aids, and the Energy Savings Certificates (CAEs), prices in the Peninsula and Balearic Islands start from 23,040 euros for the BYD DOLPHIN Comfort, and from 24,240 euros for the Design.
