El CV Playas de Benidorm has been left disappointed after being unable to host the promotion phase to the Superliga, the top tier of Spanish volleyball. Despite the support from the local government, the RFEVB has chosen CV Leganés' proposal, a decision accepted with sportsmanship in Benidorm, despite the high hopes of being the hosts.

"Although not selected as the venue, CV Playas de Benidorm wishes to publicly thank the Benidorm City Council for their involvement, commitment, and willingness to host an event of this magnitude. Furthermore, the club congratulates the organising club, UC3M Voleibol Leganés, and the Madrid municipality, hoping the tournament will be a success both organisationally and sportingly," the Alicante club stated in a communiqué. It added: "With the ticket to the final phase secured, Servigroup Playas de Benidorm is now focusing all efforts on preparing for this major challenge. The team, led by Adriano Lamb, champions of group C, aims to achieve a historic promotion to the Superliga Masculina in Leganés, solidifying its position as a leading force in Spanish volleyball."

The promotion phase will take place from April 24 to 27, bringing together the top six teams in the category. The Europa Pavilion, a regular venue for major events like the Copa de SM El Rey, will be the epicentre of national volleyball during those days.

Servigroup Playas de Benidorm is now mathematically the champion of Group C of the men's Superliga 2 after defeating CD Judesa Vóley 3-1 (23-25, 25-13, 25-9, 25-23) in an exciting match held at the Raúl Mesa Pavilion, corresponding to the penultimate round of the championship. A key victory for Adriano Lamb's team, closing an outstanding season in front of their fans, with only two defeats in 21 rounds.

"I am very happy with the title, for the work of the entire team throughout the season. Today (Saturday) we didn't start well, but we knew how to react like champions do. Now we have the last match in Almendralejo and, above all, prepare in the best way for the promotion phase," said Brazilian Adriano Elías Lamb, coach of Servigroup.
