Alejandro Balde reported being subjected to racist insults during the first half of the
match held at the Coliseum
between Getafe and Barça. The Barcelona left-back informed González Fuertes' assistant of the attacks received just at the end of the first half, and the Asturian referee activated the anti-racism protocol before the start of the second half and recorded the incident in the match report.
"I received several racist insults. This should not continue to happen. It was in the first half, and I told the referee, who activated the protocol. I don't know exactly how that protocol works, and I have to try to forget what happened," revealed Balde, who did not specify where the racist insults came from.
"I was not aware, but I stand against any racist comment or chant. I fully support this. If it's true, they should find them and remove them from the football fields," commented Getafe's coach, José Bordalás, when asked in a press conference about the insults directed at Balde.
Barcelona's coach, Hansi Flick, also lamented the verbal attacks on the player. "It's unbelievable, there is no place for this in football or life. These people should be at home, and we must fight against this. Those around them should do something because it is unfair and disrespectful," acknowledged the German coach.
