Alicante Athletes Aiming High at the Paris Games

The eagerly awaited Paris Olympic Games will kick off on July 26, and a significant representation of athletes from Alicante will travel to the French capital with bags full of challenges and dreams.

Four years of preparation, countless hours of training, and the shared excitement to reach the pinnacle at the most anticipated event for any athlete.

These will be the fourth Games for Benidorm native Lili Fernández, an exemplary athlete and mother of two who continues to battle it out on the sand at 37 years old. The Paris event will likely be her farewell to high-level beach volleyball after a stellar career filled with successes alongside her inseparable partner Elsa Baquerizo.
