Resident Intercepts Young Woman Attempting to Burglarize His Home in Xàbia

You are peacefully at home, most likely asleep, around 5:30 AM, when an intruder breaks into your property with the intent to rob you. Unfortunately for the thief, she encounters a resident who is not willing to let her leave with her loot, as if it were a scene from a movie. This is exactly what happened on Monday, August 26th, in a residence in the Arenal area of Xàbia.

The victim of the break-in detained the young woman until the arrival of the Citizen Security Unit patrol from the Local Police, who appeared shortly thereafter. Additionally, several witnesses in the area reported seeing a man fleeing the scene, who was apprehended minutes later by another group of officers.

Near the detention site of these two individuals, several stolen items were found, including jewelry, glasses, money, mobile phones, documents, and credit cards. All these items were taken from at least four homes, although police sources do not rule out the possibility that more houses may have been affected.

Both the Local Police and Civil Guard proceeded to arrest the suspects, aged 28 and 29. They are accused of committing multiple counts of burglary with force. The state authorities are continuing their investigation to fully clarify the events.

The security forces emphasize that citizen cooperation was crucial for timely action. They also note that the swift response and coordination of the units were exemplary in locating the alleged perpetrators of these five home burglaries between 1:00 AM and 5:30 AM.
