They took their time, but the rains have finally arrived. The end of August and the beginning of September have brought significant rainfall to the province, with substantial accumulations in the northern and interior regions of Alicante. Although irregular, these precipitations have provided a much-needed respite to areas that have been dry for a long time.

El Comtat has been the most benefited area, with accumulations exceeding 150 liters per square meter over the two days of storms, according to data from the Valencian Meteorological Association (Avamet).

Regions such as Marina Alta and Baja, which have faced severe issues this summer due to drought , have also experienced significant rainfall in their interior areas. These accumulations have provided relief to reservoirs that are critically low.
