A bike ride took a dramatic turn for a cyclist in Torrevieja this Thursday afternoon when he suffered an accident in Cala Mosca, located between Playa Flamenca and Punta Prima. The Provincial Fire Consortium (CPB) of Alicante had to respond immediately to a report of a man who had fallen off a cliff around 8 PM.

The injured man fell down a four-meter drop and sustained injuries that left him unable to move. Therefore, due to the impossibility of exiting on his own, a rescue team was required to attend the scene and carried out the intervention at approximately 9 PM, according to the Consortium.

Given the harsh terrain conditions, which were rocky and difficult to access, specialists had to deploy two light vehicles equipped with the necessary intervention materials. The team consisted of three firefighters, a corporal, and a sergeant.

After successfully extricating him from the precipice, the fire brigade evacuated the injured cyclist on a stretcher to the SAMU ambulance, which then transported him to a medical center for further assistance.
