A Young Frenchman Travels Hanging from the Last Metro Carriage in Madrid

A French tourist has astonished Madrid metro users by filming himself travelling while hanging from the last carriage of Line 1, between Tribunal station and the next stop. The video, uploaded to TikTok by user @fffantin, shows the young man enjoying the experience. The National Police have launched an investigation following the video's dissemination after Metro de Madrid informed the National Police's Mobile Brigade of this incident and will file an official complaint in the coming days.

In the video, a young man is seen in a Line 1 Metro station, wearing headphones and holding a mobile phone, climbing onto the back of a Metro carriage. The train starts moving while the young man, whose face is clearly visible, is seen holding on with one hand while recording himself with the other.

The Investigation Group of the National Police's Mobile Brigade is investigating the events under the Citizen Security Protection Act, which penalises uncivil acts on public transport, among others.

The Metro de Madrid regulations include penalties for passenger conduct that violates the Law 16/1987, of 30 July, on the Organisation of Land Transport. The competent authority to initiate and resolve the sanctioning procedures provided for in this Regulation is the Managing Director of the Regional Transport Consortium.
