Young Man Arrested in Alcoi for Shooting at Cleaners and Police Officers with a Pellet Rifle from His Window

A young man, acting like a sniper, surprised the local police officers of Alcoi and the municipal cleaning service. The shooter gave a peculiar welcome to the municipal workers passing under his window by shooting at them with a pellet rifle.

The young man, who has been arrested for these actions, had already been reported up to three times this year for similar incidents. On this occasion, he shot at the cleaning vehicle and a patrol car, as well as an officer.

The events took place in the early hours when the young man allegedly positioned himself at a window in his home with a pellet rifle and, acting like a sniper, shot at a municipal cleaning service vehicle. The worker managed to take cover and alert the police.

According to a security body statement, a local police unit arrived at the scene as they were nearby. They were met with shots from the young man, with some even hitting the car. While the officers tried to locate the exact origin of the shots, he opened fire again, this time hitting an officer and causing minor injuries. However, the officers managed to pinpoint the exact house from which the young sniper was shooting.

The local officers reported the incident to the National Police Station in Alcoy for an investigation, which was taken over by Judicial Police agents from the station. Due to all that happened and after conducting appropriate investigative measures, the agents identified and arrested the alleged perpetrator. In fact, they found a pistol, a rifle, and ammunition for these air guns in his home, all of which were confiscated.

During the investigation, it was confirmed that the arrested individual was a repeat offender in his behavior, as it was the third time he had been reported this year for similar incidents. The detainee, a 19-year-old male, was brought before the duty Court of Instruction in the same locality.
