Young Man Arrested After Killing His Mother with a Knife

La Guardia Civil has arrested a 20-year-old man in the last few hours as the alleged perpetrator of the death of his mother, a 60-year-old woman, in the family home in As Neves (Pontevedra).

According to sources from the Pontevedra Command, the events occurred on Wednesday around 9:20 PM in a house in the parish of Rubiós. There, this young man stabbed his mother at the doorstep, causing her death, and then locked himself in his room.

When the Guardia Civil officers arrived, they proceeded to arrest him and subsequently transfer him to Álvaro Cunqueiro Hospital, as the alleged perpetrator of the homicide had some injuries.

The As Neves City Council has called for a minute of silence this Thursday at 12:00 PM in front of the town hall and a meeting of the Board of Spokespersons is scheduled to agree on an official day of mourning.
