The province of Alicante is preparing for a week beginning with rain. On Monday, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) expects skies with intervals of low clouds, as well as light and isolated drizzles on the coast during the first half of the day.
Temperatures will remain largely unchanged, with light frosts in the interior, potentially dropping to a minimum of 3º in Alcoi, and between 6º and 8º in other regional capitals. Meanwhile, the wind will be light from the west, with intervals from the east during the afternoon.
On Tuesday, New Year's Eve, Aemet will activate the yellow alert for rain in Alicante, across the province except for the northern interior strip. The expected rainfall in one hour will be 20 mm.
The alert will be active throughout the day, during which AEMET forecasts showers from early morning, locally heavy and persistent on the coast, accompanied by storms. On the coast, the wind will be moderate from the northeast; while inland, it will be light from the west, turning to the east in the afternoon.
