Ciudad de la Luz studios have concluded a year with over 14 productions and an economic impact exceeding €60 million. The 'president' of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, stated that these figures "confirm its consolidation as an international benchmark in the film industry".
The head of the Consell has reviewed the activity of the Alicante studios in 2024, highlighting that the shoots have generated over 30,000 overnight stays in Alicante establishments and boosted the hiring of more than 400 companies, which "reinforces the positive impact of the audiovisual industry on the local economy and employment," according to a statement from the Generalitat.
He also indicated that the 14 film projects "have positively impacted the national and international projection of Ciudad de la Luz within the sector, which has been showcased to the world through films, series, and advertisements as the perfect place for the most ambitious audiovisual projects".

In the realm of series, Ciudad de la Luz has hosted productions such as 'Ley del Mar', 'Nero', 'The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon', 'Favatrix', and 'Mar afuera'. Among the films are 'Under Paris', directed by Xavier Gens; the blockbuster 'Venom: The Last Dance', directed by Kelly Marcel; 'Los Tigres', by Alberto Rodríguez; 'El cautivo', under the direction of Alejandro Amenábar; 'Mala Influencia', by Chloé Wallace, as well as a German production by Surfilms, adding an international touch to the cinematic offering.
In the field of advertising spots, notable are the commercials for Mas Orange and Cupra Terramar, the latter directed by J.J. Bayona, and a third spot produced by Blur.
Similarly, to promote the potential of the studios, guided tours have been organized in collaboration with Ivace and ICEX for audiovisual industry professionals, as well as presentation events in various locations, such as Madrid and San Sebastián, among others.
Additionally, participation in audiovisual festivals and markets has been undertaken both in Spain - Málaga, Valladolid, and San Sebastián - and internationally, with presence in Cannes, Berlin, Guadalajara (Mexico), and London.
Mazón noted that more than 500 directors, producers, actors, and other industry agents have visited the studios and locations in the Valencian Community, which, in his view, "strengthens relationships in the audiovisual field, as well as enhances the territory's positioning as one of the best sets in the world".
The 'president' has announced that in 2025 the film complex "will intensify its international promotion with new initiatives that will strengthen its role in the audiovisual industry".
Thus, in addition to increasing the presence of the Alicante studios in the most relevant markets of the sector, Mazón pointed out that "another key objective is attracting investments and consolidating the Valencian Community as a powerful business hub". To this end, Ciudad de la Luz will develop its audiovisual technology hub by incorporating top-tier companies into its facilities.
Collaboration with various institutions will also be enhanced, including Vocational Training, universities, municipalities, Labora, and ESCAC, to "develop strategies that allow for the formation of highly qualified human teams, thus facilitating the arrival of shoots to the region," Mazón emphasized.
Sustainability will also play a "crucial" role in Ciudad de la Luz's plans. In the past year, a 'Green Book' has been created for the studios, and the installation of a renewable energy system is planned to meet the needs of the film complex, aligning with current trends towards more responsible and ecological development.
Additionally, work is underway on the launch of the new 'Film Commission' of the Valencian Community, which aims to "facilitate the work of companies and professionals in the audiovisual sector". This initiative seeks to "position the region as a reference hub under the new brand Audiovisual Mediterranean HUB Region of Valencia".
