A two-year-old girl passed away in the early hours of Sunday after suffering an electric shock at the fairgrounds in Alquerías, Murcia. Three other minors, aged 8, 11, and 12, were also affected by the electricity.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight when emergency services received a call for help regarding a two-year-old girl who had been electrocuted. According to the callers, she was unconscious and bleeding from the nose after suffering the electric shock.
The Emergency Medical Services dispatched a Mobile Emergency Unit. Later, an additional ambulance was mobilized when local police reported that three other children had also been affected, apparently by electric shocks. All of them were conscious, and their condition did not seem as severe as that of the unconscious girl, detailed La Verdad.
At 1:16 am, medical personnel from the emergency unit confirmed the death of the two-year-old girl after an hour of unsuccessful cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
The 061 staff also attended to a 29-year-old woman experiencing an anxiety attack. The other three minors affected by the electricity were taken to the hospital by their own means.
