The Local Government Board of the Alicante City Council approved this Tuesday the call for two tenders to carry out reurbanization and conditioning works in Santa Cruz and Altozano for a total of 1.2 million euros. Specifically, these are the projects for the repair of walls and stairs located on Toledo and Divina Pastora streets in the Santa Cruz neighborhood, with a base bidding budget of 480,551.23 euros, and the reurbanization and consolidation works on Pintor Otilio Street and its surroundings in Altozano, with a base bidding budget of 711,027.86 euros, both with an execution period of six months.

“With these projects we will respond to urgent needs detected in the neighborhoods of Santa Cruz and Altozano and at the same time we will modernize the intervention areas and their surroundings with actions to improve accessibility and renew pavements, lighting, and urban furniture elements,” highlights Infrastructure Councilor Cristina García.

The repair works on walls and stairs located on Toledo and Divina Pastora streets in the Santa Cruz neighborhood include the demolition of the stairs to reinforce their foundation, as well as for the review of underground water networks. Also, the sanitation of the lateral retaining wall for its reconstruction and replacement of tiles, pavements, railings, lighting, and urban furniture elements.

These renovation and conditioning works on Toledo and Divina Pastora streets will entail the temporary relocation of tenants living in the two houses accessed by the stairs.
