The Alicante Central Market will have new accessible and adapted bathrooms for all its customers. The Government Board of the Alicante City Council has approved the tender for these renovation works, which also include the renewal of the potable water supply network in the stalls.
These works are part of a comprehensive update of the infrastructures of Alicante's central market. Impulsed by the Department of Markets, they have a budget of 60,000 euros and a completion period of two months.
The councilor responsible for the area, Lidia López, has highlighted that the City Council "continues to commit to improving municipal markets with the execution of necessary new reforms to have the best facilities and carry out a maintenance plan." The daily use by the public requires that "they are in perfect condition to offer the best public services."
The renovation plan for the bathrooms at Alicante Central Market also includes the creation of a new accessible toilet for people with reduced mobility on the basement floor, in the fruit and vegetable area. The existing ones will be improved with the replacement of cisterns and doors.
Additionally, the plumbing network of the central stalls on the ground floor and the market facilities will be changed and improved to execute a comprehensive update of these infrastructures.
