Worker Imprisoned for Assaulting Elderly Residents and Recording It

A suspected sexual predator of the elderly, exploiting his position as a nursing assistant in a care home in l'Horta, allegedly assaulted residents and recorded the acts on his mobile phone to share them with others via an application. This is how the 44-year-old man, arrested by agents of the UFAM of the National Police of Torrent this week, allegedly operated, accused of multiple sexual assaults on elderly individuals, particularly vulnerable and largely dependent. The total number of victims remains unknown as the recordings and images seized from the alleged assailant are yet to be fully analysed. However, according to LAS PROVINCIAS, some of the residents depicted in these materials may have already passed away.

The Court of Instruction number one in Torrent, acting as a duty court, ordered the provisional, communicated, and non-bailable imprisonment of the alleged gerontophile this Friday at noon, after the National Police found material directly incriminating him in the sexual assaults.

According to consulted sources, the case has initially been opened, pending further classification, for a generic sexual freedom offence, as the full extent of the charges, including several involving carnal access to highly dependent and particularly vulnerable individuals due to their age, is yet to be determined, as reported by this newspaper.

Furthermore, the number of victims is still to be ascertained. The complaint filed by a relative of the arrested individual, to whom he sent one of the recordings, is just the tip of the iceberg, these same sources indicate. The investigation has just begun, and various investigative procedures need to be conducted, judicial sources state. On one hand, an in-depth analysis following the extraction of the devices seized from the detainee during the search of his home, conducted this past Thursday, is required. Similarly, all family members of the residents who have been admitted to this care home in a municipality of l'Horta during the time the alleged sexual predator was employed there will need to be contacted to determine who were victims of the now-incarcerated individual.

The care home worker arrested by the National Police for alleged sexual assaults on residents, who also recorded and subsequently shared these with other users, has no prior convictions. The 44-year-old, single detainee worked as a nursing assistant in the care home and was responsible for dressing the residents' wounds. In addition to the sexual assault charges filed by the National Police, he is also accused of possessing child pornography.

In fact, the police have seized various electronic devices - phones, hard drives, and storage media - whose contents will now need to be thoroughly analysed following the necessary extraction.

According to 'Las Provincias', the investigation began after National Police investigators became aware of the dissemination of sexually explicit videos via a social network, in which the now-detained individual participated and elderly individuals appeared. It seems someone from the detainee's circle alerted the police after receiving sexual images involving an elderly person. Although the suspect sent it through an application where the message disappears once opened, this person had the foresight to take a photograph before closing it, thus exposing this case of abuse and sexual assaults in a care home in l'Horta on vulnerable individuals with multiple pathologies, which would further aggravate the penalties.
