Woman Injured in Torrevieja by Knife Attack

A 58-year-old woman has been injured in a knife attack in Torrevieja. The victim had to be taken to the Torrevieja Hospital due to an open wound in the abdominal area, according to sources close to the incident.

The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. this Sunday, on a street near the Bus Station in the town of Vega Baja. According to the Emergency Information and Coordination Centre (Cicu), the woman was attended to by medical services and transported to Torrevieja Hospital at 6:20 p.m. via a Basic Life Support unit.

As this newspaper has learned, the woman had an open knife wound in the abdominal area and had to be hospitalised at Torrevieja Hospital, where she remains admitted.

At present, the causes of the incident have not been disclosed, and the Civil Guard is investigating the situation.
