A Woman Attempts Suicide After Eviction in Alicante

Olga was evicted from her Alicante home on the morning of Thursday, July 3. During the eviction, the 53-year-old woman consumed two boxes of medication in an attempt to end her life after the setback.

After two eviction attempts, this one was final. Both Olga and her daughter were removed from their apartment in the Carolinas neighbourhood after 22 years of living in the property at number 4 Alcalde Suárez de Llanos Street.

A group of thirty activists from the Sindicat Barri de Carolines gathered at the doorstep to try to stop the eviction. However, the eviction proceeded, leaving Olga and her daughter on the street.
