Víctor Lafuente faces the biggest challenge of his career. He takes on the role of sporting director for a team that has just been relegated from professional football, Eldense, returning to the club barely a year after leaving with Manu Guill and Hugo Rico, now at Tenerife.
He returns alone this time, with the pressure of having to build an almost entirely new team. The first step, following the renewal of central defender Darío Dumic, is to secure a reliable coach to lead the Pepico Amat team.
He knows he won't have the largest budget in the group, but that doesn't stop him from dreaming of fighting for one of the top five positions that offer a chance to compete for promotion to the Segunda División.
Eldense will benefit from the league's relegation aid, receiving over two million euros in the first year. However, the Primera RFEF will be tough and demanding, with bigger budgets from teams like Tenerife, Murcia, Ibiza, Hércules, or Cartagena.
Víctor Lafuente is already familiar with achieving significant goals with Eldense in his previous tenure. He, along with Manu Guill and Hugo Rico, took Eldense from the Primera RFEF to the Segunda División and soon after secured a comfortable stay in the category.
A well-versed market expert and tireless football scholar, Lafuente will strive to assemble a strong squad capable of competing over 38 matchdays against formidable opponents, including the reserve teams of Betis, Sevilla, Villarreal, Real Madrid, and Atlético de Madrid. Eldense also eagerly awaits the formation of the Primera RFEF groups for the 2025-2026 season.
