The Elda City Council has issued a special and limited edition of commemorative coins to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Medieval Trade Fair of Elda. This event will be held on April 12 and 13 in the streets and squares of the city's Historic Centre.

The coins will be distributed free of charge on Saturday, starting at 10:30 am, at the Tourist Info on Calle Nueva, coinciding with the parade of Giants and Big Heads. One coin will be given per person on a first-come, first-served basis.

Additionally, the 25 people who have pre-registered for the 'Raise the Curtain' tourist experience, which will take place on Sunday starting at 11:00 am at the Castelar Theatre, will also receive a coin.

The Councillor for Trade and Markets, Silvia Ibáñez, stated that "with this initiative we want to commemorate and highlight that the Medieval Fair of Elda, one of the most important in the province, is celebrating its 25th edition. We encourage all citizens to enjoy an event that will fill the streets and squares of our city's old town with animation and history throughout the weekend."

Fair Programme

It should be noted that the Medieval Trade Fair will begin on Saturday, April 12, with the parade of Giants and Big Heads, accompanied by the Elda Charanga, which will make its way through Calle Nueva, Ortega y Gasset, Jardines, Juan Carlos I, and Plaza Castellar, returning via the same route to Plaza de la Constitución.

At 11:00 am, the Medieval Market will open, with the official inauguration taking place at 12:00 pm. Throughout the day, activities and shows will be held, including medieval workshops, storytelling, acrobatics, parades, music, and dance, with the highlight being the 'Phoenix' aerial acrobatics show, which will begin at 9:30 pm in Plaza de Arriba.

On Sunday, the 13th, the Medieval Trade Fair programme will continue, with opening at 11:00 am and a farewell parade at 9:30 pm. It should be remembered that, in addition to more than 70 craft and food stalls, the fair includes a wide gastronomic offer located in Plaza de la Constitución.
