Wheelchairs, orthopedic walkers, and cleaning products such as softeners and detergents are some of the new specific needs detected in the last hours in the areas affected by the DANA.

The Alicante Provincial Council has sent a letter, through its president Toni Pérez, to all the town halls and mayors of the province to request collaboration, in addition to coordinating donations that may occur in different localities.

The provincial institution maintains direct contact with the mayors of the affected municipalities to understand the needs and demands that arise at any given time and to cover them as much as possible.

Therefore, after detecting the need for orthopedic products in the last hours, the president has written to the town halls to, as far as possible, "carry out the necessary steps to obtain this material".

To logistically organize the collection and distribution of the same, the Provincial Council also provides the councils with an email address diputacionalicante.dana@cpba.es and a phone number 965237872.

"The assistance of public administrations to the municipalities and affected citizens to repair the damage and alleviate the difficulties faced by neighbors highlights more than ever the importance of proximity administration: local entities," wrote the president, who also praised the response of civil society through donations and carrying out cleaning and debris removal work to get out of this terrible situation as soon as possible.

On October 31, Toni Pérez already sent a first communication to all the town halls of the province to request their collaboration - which in the first days focused mainly on the need to have technical and logistical means such as tanks, tractors, or excavators - and to inform them that it would be the Alicante Provincial Firefighters Consortium who would coordinate and channel human and material resources in the province of Alicante.
