The global branding consultancy that annually publishes a ranking of the world's most valuable brands. This ranking not only reveals which brands are the most well-known, but also those that generate the greatest economic value for their companies by evaluating various factors to determine a brand's value.
In the automotive sector, the Japanese firm Toyota has managed to position itself as the most valuable company in the automotive sector, and also ranks sixth in the report of the 100 most valuable brands in the world within the ranking—2024 BrandZ Top 100 Global Brands—.
The ranking of the 100 most valuable brands in the world by Interbrand combines measures such as successful models in terms of brand management.
The report includes an analysis of what makes the world's most valuable brands have a long trajectory, reflecting market trends and customer preferences, and serves as a strategic tool for companies to observe their growth and evaluate their position in the market.
Eight out of ten Toyota vehicles sold in Spain are electrified, a trend maintained over time since the arrival of the fourth generation of Toyota's hybrid technology in 2017. This is reflected in the sales figures of Toyota Spain between January and September 2024, when 60,489 electrified vehicles—Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV), and Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV)—were sold, accounting for 81% of a total of 74,634 vehicles sold.
Toyota's hybrid sales in the Spanish market during the first three quarters grew by +13% compared to the same period last year, reaching 57,462 units sold. Plug-in hybrids represent +209% with 2,251 units, and electric vehicles +27% with 776 units.
The successful launch of the second generation of the crossover that revolutionized the C-SUV segment, the new Toyota C-HR, paved the way for a strong start to 2024. With more than 11,800 units sold—hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions—the new Toyota C-HR illustrates Toyota customers' multi-technology commitment. The good results of Toyota's electrified range are also due to Yaris Hybrid, Yaris Cross Hybrid, Corolla Hybrid family, and Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and Plug-in, all with record sales.
Toyota, with its brands Toyota and Lexus, is a world leader in the commercialization of electrified models, with more than 25 million electrified cars sold worldwide and over half a million units in Spain since 1997.
In Europe, it sold 912,671 vehicles in the first nine months of 2024, a result superior to the market average, with a 6% increase compared to the previous year, achieving historic sales records during that period; the Toyota brand maintained its position as the second best-selling passenger car brand, with a 5% year-on-year sales growth.
Toyota sold 848,974 vehicles between January and September 2024, representing a 5% increase compared to the previous year. Among the brand's best-selling models are the Yaris range, the Corolla range, and the new Toyota C-HR. Toyota's overall electrified sales ratio now stands at 74%, with a 7% year-on-year volume increase. Battery electric vehicle sales during the first nine months rose 19% compared to the previous year, with 26,824 units. Plug-in hybrid sales increased 93% compared to the previous year with the launch of the Toyota C-HR PHEV.
