Take advantage of the peculiar 'veroño' that the province of Alicante is experiencing, which this Friday will hold the temperature record in Spain, with a maximum of 27 degrees Celsius, according to the forecast of the Spanish Meteorological Agency (Aemet). The mercury in Alicante contends with the calendar two weeks before All Saints' Day, as no significant drop in temperature is expected in the short term.

The peak heat will occur this Saturday, where the province will reach 28 degrees Celsius and gradually drop slightly to 25 degrees expected by mid-next week. Under these conditions, the Alicante 'veroño' has no expiration date, allowing for a mix of traditional sweets with sandals.

The skies will remain mostly clear, although cloudy intervals may occur early Saturday and late Sunday. From Tuesday, Aemet announces continuous rainfall in the province, at least until Wednesday. Temperatures, however, will remain significant, with highs of 25 degrees and lows of 17.

These are the remnants of a more unstable situation surrounding the province of Alicante these days, which has five Spanish provinces on alert: rain warnings this Friday will be in Girona; the Cantabrian slope of Navarra and Guipúzcoa. Otherwise, Tarragona will be on alert for wind and waves, and Castellón, only for wind.

In general, Aemet expects abundant cloudiness and precipitation in Galicia, eastern Cantabrian, Pyrenees, and northeast Catalonia, occasionally accompanied by storms. By areas, these rains will be persistent in the eastern end of the Cantabrian, and in the Pyrenees, they are likely to fall as snow above 1,800/2,000 meters.

Otherwise, it is not ruled out that the rains will end up affecting other areas of the northern half of the peninsula, although more weakly and less likely the further south one is. Meanwhile, showers are expected on the coast of Girona, which may be locally strong and accompanied by storms. It is not ruled out that they will also affect the north of the Balearic Islands in the afternoon. In the rest of the country, there will be a predominance of slightly cloudy skies or with medium and high clouds. Additionally, in the Canary Islands, more stable weather is expected, with cloudy intervals in the north of the mountainous islands and slightly cloudy in the rest.
