Weather conditions are challenging this week, with two nearly consecutive storms continuing to bring rain to a particularly wet end of winter. However, this has ended two years of drought in the province of Alicante.
The Spanish Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicts a series of storms that will bring continuous rain, possibly with a break on St. Joseph's Day, allowing the Fallas to be burned in Valencia. The first storm, preceding 'Jana', has been named 'Laurence'. It will bring locally heavy and persistent rain to the province of Alicante, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms. The snow level will remain at 1,500 meters altitude.
⛈️Storm Laurence arrives with abundant rain in large areas of our country. It will also bring warmer air, causing temperatures and the snow level to rise.

This Monday, temperatures will drop in the southeastern peninsula and the archipelagos. Light winds will increase to moderate, from the east.
On Tuesday, the rain will continue, with 'Laurence' moving towards the Mediterranean, but Aemet has not yet issued any weather alerts for intense rain.
Wednesday will be a transition day between two storms: another arrives on Thursday with more rain, according to Aemet. However, it has not yet been named, and forecasts, although predicting rain, do not specify the amount or intensity.
