The summer says goodbye with daily rains, and autumn will arrive with more. The change of season will occur on Sunday at 14:44 hours, although meteorologically, the difference will hardly be noticeable. The showers affecting the province this week could continue next week with the arrival of a rather active Atlantic front.

The last weekend of summer will be marked by a DANA that will bring heavy rain and storms. Although the DANA moves north and is re-incorporated by the general circulation of the atmosphere, cold air at high altitudes will continue, maintaining instability.

Friday will be very unstable with showers and storms in much of the Peninsula, but these will subside in the south during the afternoon. For now, the province of Alicante is free from weather alerts for rain that it has had in recent days, as is Saturday. It will also rain, but without intensity.

On Sunday at 14:44 hours (peninsular time), autumn will begin. The cold air at high altitudes could start to retreat northwards, reducing instability in many areas. Although showers will continue, they will be weaker and less likely further south.

On Monday, there will still be cold air at high altitudes which could favor showers in areas like Cantabria, Pyrenees, around Iberian System, Navarra, Aragón, Catalonia, Valencian Community, and Balearic Islands, though much weaker.

On Tuesday afternoon, a rather active cold front is expected to enter from Galicia from the Atlantic with more rain. This front would advance with heavy rains across the Peninsula and could produce showers in the Mediterranean, though much weaker by then.

After this front, a colder air mass would arrive, lowering temperatures. At least during the first days of next week, maximum temperatures will remain very mild compared to what was experienced in summer, around 24ºC maximum.
