An Atlantic front that crossed the Iberian Peninsula caused storms and rainfall during the night from Friday to Saturday, especially intense in the Marina Alta, although the rains were widespread.

The most significant episodes occurred in the Marina Alta, where up to 45 liters per square meter were collected in Xàbia and 27.4 in Teulada. In Altea, there were leaks in the Senior Care Center, where Local Police and Firefighters attended to check the damage, according to Emergencies of the Valencian Government on their social media account X.

Although the largest amounts occurred in the Marina Alta, the rains reached most of the province of Alicante. Thus, showers also occurred in the Vega Baja, although the records were not very significant.

These autumn storms have been accompanied by an intense electrical apparatus, with the presence of numerous lightning strikes that have left spectacular moments, as in this video reproduced by the MeteOrihuela website from the capital of Vega Baja.

This Atlantic front brings a drop in temperatures, especially in the minimums. Thus, in Alicante, maximums of 23º are expected; 21º in Orihuela and Elche, and 17º in Alcoi. The minimums will be 8º in Alcoi, 12º in Orihuela, 13º in Elche, and 14º in Alicante and Dénia.

The level of pre-emergency for forest fire risk for this Saturday is high in the south of the province of Alicante and low-medium in the rest of the Valencian Community, according to the Emergency Coordination Center of the Generalitat.

The passage of this Atlantic front is the prelude to the entry of a DANA (Isolated Depression at High Levels), which will enter this Sunday in the Valencian Community and will bring significant rainfall to the province of Alicante next week, with special incidence on Tuesday, according to the forecast of the Spanish Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
