Volkswagen Navarra concluded the year 2024 as the fourth largest production plant globally among Volkswagen's seventeen factories, trailing only Wolfsburg (Germany), Puebla (Mexico), and Bratislava (Slovakia).
Specifically, the Landaben plant produced 274,688 cars last year, accounting for 9% of the vehicles assembled in Volkswagen's factories worldwide.
When expanding the comparison to all vehicle production plants of all brands within the Consortium globally, including China, the Landaben plant ranks eleventh out of 50, with 3% of the total volume.
The slight increase (+1,415 cars, equivalent to one day of production) in last year's output compared to 273,273 cars in 2023 occurs as the planned upgrades to Volkswagen Navarra's facilities continue for the launch of two electric cars, a Volkswagen and a Škoda, throughout 2026. By model, 143,394 cars were T-Cross, 99,507 Taigo, and 31,787 Polo.
Regarding engine types, 56% of the cars were equipped with the 1.0-litre, 85 kW engine; 26% with the 1.0-litre, 70 kW; 10% with the 1.5-litre, 110 kW; 6.4% with the 1.0-litre, 81 kW; 1.4% with the 1.0-litre, 59 kW; and 0.2% with the 1.0-litre, 66 kW CNG. 63% of customers opted for the automatic DSG transmission, compared to 55.3% the previous year.
For the year 2025, production is expected to be between 220,000 and 230,000 cars, exceeding the 150,000 outlined in the three-year plans at the end of 2023.
The decline compared to 2024 is primarily due to the reduced production capacity of the plant, attributed to ongoing construction necessary to accommodate the integration of the two electric models, which will join the current combustion T-Cross and Taigo in 2026.
