The Spanish subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group reported a revenue of €4 billion in 2024, marking a 9% increase compared to the previous year, as announced in a statement on Tuesday.
The business volume of VW Group Spain Distribution, which markets Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, VW Commercial Vehicles, and Ducati in Spain, has seen a cumulative growth of 60% over the past decade.
Additionally, it was noted that this revenue growth is accompanied by a positive trend in the profitability of the commercial network, which in 2024 stood at around 2.5%, "well above the industry average," according to Europa Press.
The automotive brands distributed by the company achieved over 161,000 registrations last year, representing an increase of nearly 8% compared to the previous year.
Thus, the Czech brand Skoda once again broke its record, with a 20% growth that tripled the market's overall rise, surpassing 38,000 registrations in 2024.
Volkswagen as a brand recorded 67,000 registrations (+5%), allowing it to secure the second position in the total market and lead the corporate channel once again, while Audi sold 39,000 cars, with a market share of 4%, the company details.
Regarding Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, its registrations exceeded 17,000 units last year, representing a significant increase of 31.5% compared to the previous year, with its market share rising above 10%.
Ducati, in its first year under the umbrella of Volkswagen Group Spain Distribution, grew by 10% in Spain and Portugal (excluding the Canary Islands). "The Iberian market recorded one of the brand's highest growths worldwide, and a sales record was achieved in Portugal," the company adds.
The president of Volkswagen Group Spain Distribution, Francisco Pérez Botello, highlighted that the company has reached this scale thanks to the implementation of a sustained and profitable growth strategy over the past decade. "Today, we are one of the largest automotive companies in Spain, and we hope to continue strengthening in the future," he adds.
