HLA Vistahermosa Clinic is the first private healthcare centre in Alicante to perform a knee operation assisted by robotic technology. The clinic announced this through a press release, highlighting that the procedure was conducted using the CORI robot.
The CORI system, developed by Smith+Nephew, allows for personalised surgical planning and highly precise execution in knee surgeries, particularly in total and partial arthroplasty cases, as explained by HLA Vistahermosa Clinic. The robot aids surgeons in making more accurate bone cuts and achieving optimal alignment of prosthetic components, offering better outcomes for patients.
Benefits of Robotics
Some of the most notable benefits of using the CORI robot in knee surgery include surgical precision and personalised procedures, thanks to detailed planning tailored to each patient's anatomy in real-time.
The system's precision minimises tissue damage, as it is a less invasive surgery, preserving more healthy tissue. Additionally, it improves implant alignment, contributing to greater prosthesis durability and faster recovery, reducing postoperative pain and aiding rehabilitation.
