Real Madrid was the undisputed star of the Globe Soccer Awards, individual accolades that close the year and, while less prestigious than the Ballon d'Or and FIFA The Best, honour the best of 2024 as it draws to a close. Vinicius claimed the most coveted recognition, that of the best player, at a gala held at the opulent Atlantis Hotel in Dubai, located in the luxurious Palm Jumeirah area, and hosted by British journalist Amanda Davies.

The Brazilian, also named the best forward and already partly compensated by The Best for the huge disappointment of the Ballon d'Or, was chosen by the votes of the public and a jury composed of former players, coaches, agents, and journalists, selected by Globe Soccer, the Dubai Sports Council, the European Club Association (ECA), and the European Football Agents Association (EFAA), organisers of the event.

Accompanied by his compatriot Neymar, the '7' of Real Madrid recalled his teammates and also Flamengo, the club where he took his first steps in football before making the leap to Real Madrid, where he continues to make history with thirteen trophies and 97 goals in white since his arrival in Chamartín in the summer of 2018.

In a gala of absolute white colour, Jude Bellingham was recognised as the best midfielder and Carlo Ancelotti received the award for the best coach, a prize accepted on behalf of the Italian, the most decorated Madrid coach of all time, by Emilio Butragueño, the club's director of institutional relations. Additionally, Real Madrid was recognised as the club of the year in the men's category, an accolade collected by its general director, José Ángel Sánchez, which rewarded the substantial haul of five titles that the Chamartín team secured in the last twelve months, primarily the Champions-League double.

The prodigy Lamine Yamal provided a contrasting note in a gala with such a Madrid accent and was named the best emerging player, in line with what had already happened with the Kopa Trophy, at the Ballon d'Or, and also with the latest Golden Boy, all recognising the best young footballer in the world.

In Dubai, Olympiacos was also recognised as the revelation club after winning the Conference League last season, the first continental trophy for Greece's most decorated club; Courtois was acknowledged for his outstanding career alongside Neymar, Alessandro del Piero, and Rio Ferdinand; and Cristiano Ronaldo was named the best player in the Middle East. The Belgian and the Portuguese took the stage to present the awards with an engaging discussion on the current state of world football.
