Vinalopó Hospital Becomes First in Spain to Receive Healthy Company Distinction

Vinalopó University Hospital in Elche has been recognised with the Healthy Company Distinction awarded by the Institute of Occupational Safety and Well-being (ISBL), following a "rigorous" external evaluation process. It has become the first healthcare centre in Spain to receive this seal, according to a statement from Grupo Ribera, the managing company of this health department.

The experts' evaluation highlighted "the various initiatives that the centre promotes through its Ribera Life project," a programme aimed at "caring for professionals," as well as "enhancing their well-being and happiness within the company," from the perspective of "physical, emotional, professional, financial, team, and social health."

Additionally, Ribera Salud emphasised "the involvement of management and the active participation of all professionals in health initiatives, occupational risk prevention, promotion of a positive work environment, healthy leadership, work-life balance, and communication."

Thus, it was explained that the audit was conducted through an analysis of the ISBL model structured in ten criteria that "allow for the assessment of the real and sustainable implementation of the healthy company model."

According to the ISBL director, Agustín Sánchez-Toledo Ledesma, "this recognition highlights the Vinalopó department's commitment to a management model that places people at the centre, integrates well-being into the organisational strategy, and advances towards a healthy, sustainable culture with a future vision."

Meanwhile, the department's managing director, Rafael Carrasco, stated that "obtaining this distinction is the result of the collective effort of professionals and a determined commitment to promoting a work environment based on respect, health, and shared commitment."

The company has achieved the silver category of this seal, which "accredits advanced management in organisational well-being and reinforces the department's position as a benchmark in implementing policies that place people at the centre of the organisation."
