Villena strengthens its tourism promotion in the Asian market with the visit of four influencers

Villena welcomes four prominent influencers, key figures in the Chinese premium tourism market, to boost Asian-origin tourism. This visit, which took place last Monday, March 10, is part of the actions planned for 2025 by the Costa Blanca Tourism Board, aimed at promoting tourism in the province of Alicante.

Thanks to the collaboration between the Villena City Council and the Costa Blanca Tourism Board for this promotion, "the tourism sector will benefit from the significant impact they generate among their followers," according to municipal sources, "making these influencers strategic allies for promoting Villena as a tourist destination in the Asian market."

Among these content creators, who are on a 'blog trip' organised within the POA of Turespaña through the OET of Canton, are figures like Katherine, Charles, and Minyi Zheng, as well as the digital media Cityzine, boasting a reach of over 10 million followers in China. Their diverse content covers topics such as travel, lifestyle, gastronomy, technology, and urban trends.

During their visit, the content creators strolled through the streets of Villena's historic centre, still adorned from the recent celebration of the Medieval Festivities. On this tour, the influencers visited iconic sites in the city such as the Atalaya Castle and the Church of Santiago, among others.

Finally, they visited the MUVI, where they could admire Villena's historical heritage. The Villena Treasure became the main attraction for the visitors.

According to a report by Dragon Trail International for Turespaña, which analyses the use of social media in China in 2024 and its impact on tourism promotion, the public prefers genuine recommendations on itineraries and local experiences. This report also highlights Spain as one of the top tourist destinations among the Chinese population, who value the wide tourist offer, hospitality, and quality of life in our area.

Therefore, the visit of these Chinese influencers specialising in travel and luxury represents a powerful boost for Villena's tourism promotion in the Asian market.

This tourism promotion, in which Turisme Comunitat Valenciana participates, includes visits to other cities such as Torrevieja, Elche, Almoradí, and Santa Pola.
