Villena Opens Application Period for Sports Grants

The Department of Sports of Villena announces the opening of the application period for the 2024 sports grants to entities in this field and scholarships for athletes. The City Council has announced that it will allocate 110,000 euros, 10,000 euros more than last year, to clubs and 8,000 euros to individual aids.

Only sports entities with their registered office in the municipality can apply for these grants. Additionally, it is noted that the grant will be used to cover participation in championships, federated leagues during the season, and the organization of events from 2023-2024, with dates ranging from August 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024.

Thus, beneficiaries will be able to cover federation fees, equipment, travel expenses, and other general costs with this money. The main objective of this grant is to promote sports in Villena, especially grassroots sports. Moreover, sources from the City Council have indicated that applications must be submitted through their electronic headquarters and that applicants will be kept informed by the Department of Sports when the specific application period opens.

Regarding sports scholarships, applicants must have been registered residents in the locality for a minimum of 5 years and not exceed the maximum age of 29 years by July 31, 2024. The merits related to these activities will be considered for granting.

The registration period will be open for scholarships until September 17 and for club grants until September 18. The terms can be consulted on their municipal website, and applications must be submitted through the electronic headquarters or general registry.
