Villena Town Hall held the Local Security Board meeting this Thursday to prepare for the Medieval Festivities. Presided over by Mayor Fulgencio Cerdán, the board assessed the security needs for this event, which will celebrate its 23rd edition from March 7th to 9th.
The Local Security Board comprised members from the Town Hall, including Mayor Fulgencio Cerdán and councillors for Security, Civil Protection, and Historic Quarter, Sergio Palao, Pepe Ferri, and Eva García; a representative from the Government Sub-delegation; Local Police; National Police; and Civil Guard. Additionally, there was community participation with three representatives led by the president of the El Rabal neighbourhood association, Luisa Aroca.
The meeting established preventive, organisational, and monitoring measures to ensure safety during the event, which last year attracted over 120,000 people. The Medieval Festivities are an initiative of the El Rabal Neighbourhood Association and Villena Town Hall, and have been declared an Event of Regional Interest.
